GHG Inventories

Scope 1, 2 and 3 inventories to the GHG Protocol, giving a reliable baseline for targets and disclosure.

Overview

A greenhouse gas inventory is the baseline the rest of carbon management is measured against. If the boundary, the activity data or the method cannot be traced, targets and disclosures built on top of it will not hold.

How we approach it

Okala sets the organisational and operational boundary, identifies material sources, and calculates emissions with the method written down. The inventory is structured so a management team can update it, and so a reporting framework can use the same numbers without a second calculation.

What we deliver

  • Boundary setting and a list of material emission sources
  • Activity data review and gap-filling, with assumptions recorded
  • Emissions calculation using stated factors and methods
  • A documented baseline your team can update in later years
  • Outputs structured for the reporting framework you use
  • A reconciliation note where this inventory differs from an earlier one

What you receive

You get an inventory with a method, a dataset and a number. All three are delivered, because a number alone cannot be defended.

When you need it

Build an inventory before you set a target, before a disclosure, or when existing figures cannot be traced back to a method and a dataset.
