Endangered Species Monitoring

Population surveys, density estimates and long-term monitoring for priority and protected species.

Overview

Protected species monitoring is how a site shows that priority fauna and flora are known, not assumed. The programme is built around the species, the season and the decision the data has to support, including specialist great ape work where that expertise is required.

Protected Species Monitoring

How we approach it

We design the survey first: where to look, how often, and which method will actually detect the species. Camera traps, bioacoustics, eDNA, transects and targeted searches are used where they fit. Detections are checked by people who know the taxa, and the report explains both presence and the limits of the search.

What we deliver

  • Survey design matched to species ecology, season and regulatory context
  • Field deployment and retrieval, with methods written so the work can be repeated
  • Expert verification of images, recordings and field records
  • Trend and occupancy interpretation, not only a species list
  • Monitoring reports for permits, lenders and site management
  • Advice on how the programme should change if operations or the permit change
Protected Species Monitoring

What you receive

You get a monitoring design you can defend, a verified dataset, and a report that separates what was found from what was not looked for.

When you need it

Use this when a permit, management plan or financing condition depends on priority species, or when operations may affect legally protected wildlife and you need a baseline before works start.
